The ongoing maintenance of the Highland Wildcat trails are currently funded from the trailead ticket machines. Other fund raising measures are to be explored in order to extend the project and improve the visitor experience
The significance of the original 18km development was realised by the level of financial and professional support from public bodies.
The Forestry Commission, supplemented by European funds via the Forestry & Rural Development Project, was the main funder with others pictured below including Scottish Natural Heritage and the Highland Council.
In total, the capital funding package for the original trail development exceeded £500,000.
